The Atchison Redmen made their 25th appearance at the State tournament and ran into the number one 4A-DII team in the KBCA rankings in Rock Creek and saw their season come to a close in the opening round of the State tournament falling 74-40 at Hartman Arena in Park City.

Offense struggled early for Atchison as Rock Creek ran out to a 17-6 lead after the first quarter and that lead only grew throughout the game as the Mustangs galloped to a 31-17 lead at halftime and outscored the Redmen 24-11 in the third quarter to put the game out of reach for Atchison. The Redmen struggled from the field just going 15-43 and were plagued by 16 turnovers in the contest.

Atchison's season ends with a 13-10 record as Wykeen Gill led the Redmen in the State competition posting 16 points in the loss, while Adam Smith added eight and RaShaun Chambers tallied six points for Atchison.
