Atchison girls tennis traveled to Lafayette on Thursday to continue the season in a dual matchup and earned the 6-3 win overall on the day, claiming six wins in the nine matches played in highly competitive action. 

In singles action the most convincing Atchison win came from Jane Boldridge as she won 8-0 in her competition, while Celina Binkley and Alyxus Thomas each picked up tough 8-6 wins in singles action. Brienna Dove saw her match go extra points and she earned the win for the lady Red winning 9-8 (7-1). Stormy Knott while falling to her opponent 6-8 put together another strong showing for Atchison in singles play and Olivia Wabski fell in her match 2-8. 

Three doubles matches were played and Atchison picked up a pair of wins in the three contests. The team of Boldridge and Wabski earned an 8-4 win, while the tandem of Dove and Thomas won 8-6 in their doubles match. Binkley and Knott partnered in the other doubles match up and put together a tough match but fell 6-8. 

The tennis season continues for Atchison on Saturday at Desoto and the regular season will close out on Monday at Hiawatha.
