Atchison, Maur Hill & Pleasant Ridge Have Top Performers at Bobcat Cross Country Invite

Off and running were the cross country teams Atchison, Maur Hill-Mount Academy and Pleasant Ridge as they started the season at the Bobcat Invitational at Basehor-Linwood. 

Plenty of top flight performances were had by all three area teams led by the Atchison girls and the Pleasant Ridge boys each finishing second place as teams. Pleasant Ridge took second out of 11 teams competing in the boy’s action, while Atchison was fifth and Maur Hill eighth. For the Atchison girls they earned second out of 10 teams, while Pleasant Ridge took fifth and Maur Hill placed sixth. 

Six individual runners registered Top 20 finishes for Atchison on the day led by Emily Jaloma (22:32.09) who raced to a fourth place finish in the girls race, while Hailey Macierowski (23:20.10) took ninth place. Teagan and Lyndi Hanson each grabbed 19th and 20th place finishes for the lady Red. For the boys Austin Piper (18:43.06) led the way finishing fifth, while Brennan Wheatley raced to an 18th place finish. 

Pleasant Ridge had five runners tally Top 20 finishes with four coming in the boys race helping the Rams to a second place team showing. Luke Oatney (18:12.00) and Clayton Price (18:13.28) led the Rams racing to third and fourth place finishes. Dayton Flack and Garrett Silvers snagged 12th and 13th place finishes for the Rams. In the girl’s action the only Ram to place in the Top 20 was Bridget Howard who finished 12th on the day. 

A pair of Top 10 performances led the day for Maur Hill as Grace Siebert (22:50.84) and Ayden Black (18:53.52) each finished seventh place in the girls and boys competitions, respectively. Isaiah Price also had a Top 20 finish for Maur Hill finishing 14th in the boys race.
