Second Place Finish by Pleasant Ridge Boys Leads Area Performers at Pleasant Ridge XC Invite

The cross country season rolled along on Saturday in Easton, Kansas as Pleasant Ridge hosted a competition with several area schools and a few non-area teams. 

The top area team performance came in the boy’s race as the host Pleasant Ridge took second place behind only Tonganoxie. Basehor-Linwood took third, while McLouth, Perry Lecompton and Maur Hill-Mount Academy finished fourth, fifth and sixth, respectively. Valley Falls was also in competition. 

In the girls competition Tonganoxie also took first place, while Basehor-Linwood finished second. Perry Lecompton, Pleasant Ridge and Maur Hill finished third, fourth and fifth as teams, while McLouth and ACCHS also and runners competing on the day. 

The top time in the boy’s race belong to Pleasant Ridge Ram, Luke Oatney who posted a time of 17:37. His teammate, Clayton Price ran to a time of 18:01 to take fourth while, Garrett Silvers and Reid Herken finished 11th and 16th, respectively. The lady Rams were led by Kaitlyn Warden who ran to an 18th place finish. 

Perry Lecompton was led by Lexia Jamison who with a time of 22:15 had the best area finish in the girl’s race placing sixth. Blaise Ball added another Top 10 finish for the Kaws finishing eighth with a time of 22:45 while Jolie Hirsch placed 12th. Josh Leclair notched the best finish for the Kaws in the boys competition finishing 20th. 

A seventh place finish behind a time of 18:40 by Ayden Black in the boys race led Maur Hill at the Pleasant Ridge Invite, while Isaiah Price finished 19th. In the girls race Grace Siebert ran to a 15th place finish for the Ravens. 

Ceara Funk posted a time of 23:05 to earn tenth place in the girl’s competition for McLouth, while Braeden Pfau and Dakota Driskell placed 12th and 18th in the boy’s competition. 

Justin Myers of Valley Falls posted a time of 18:59 to earn ninth place at the Pleasant Ridge Invite. While ACCHS Tiger Victoria Caplinger notched a 19th place finish in the girls competition on Saturday.
