The Kansas City-Atchison All-League football honors were handed out Wednesday, and the Atchison Redmen had not only the co-offensive player of the year, but the co-overall player of the year as well.

Senior, Adam Smith earned both of those awards along with Schlagles Cornelius Ruff, after leading the Redmen to a 5-0 league record and a third straight KCA League Championship.

As Atchison’s quarterback, Smith threw for 973 yards and 17 touchdowns while completing 59 percent of his passes. He also ran for 472 yards and nine more scores.
