The Riverside and Sabetha softball teams advanced to the semifinals of the 3A Marysville Regional Tournament on Tuesday afternoon.
(8) ACCHS 1, (1) Riverside 16
The Cyclones (19-4) were able to take advantage of the Tigers mistakes in the second inning as they would score all 16 of their runs in that inning on just two hits to end the game in three innings.
All nine of the Cyclone batters reached base at least twice as they sent 21 batters to the plate in the second inning.
Mia Jackson pitched all three innings for Riverside giving up one run, one hit, with five strikeouts.
The Tigers (0-24) got their run in the first inning on an RBI single off the bat of Kinzee Bauerle.
(6) Sabetha 18, (3) Centralia 11
The Bluejays rallied from an early deficit in the late innings to knock out the Panthers.
Centralia (15-7) jumped out to an early 5-0 lead after the first inning and then they had an 8-3 lead going into the fifth inning.
Sabetha (12-15) would score five runs in the fifth and then would add eight runs in the sixth inning along with two more in the seventh to put the game away.
Chloe Detweiler hit a two-run home run for Sabetha in the sixth inning and reached base three times. Regan Hasenkamp had three hits, including two doubles and four RBI's. Bayleigh Stahl had three hits and three RBI's.
Detweiler pitched all seven innings for the Bluejays and racked up nine strikeouts to earn the win.
Centralia was paced by Tessa Parthemer as she finished with three hits and three runs. Tava Gibbs had three hits, including a double with three RBI's. Blair Wehling had two hits and three RBI's.
