King Enters Senior Season Looking to Repeat as State Champion
Allison King

The winter sports seasons are about to begin which means wrestling is about to take center stage for the next few months.

Plenty of area athletes will have high expectations this season including Oskaloosa’s Allison King.

Allison is the defending 4-1A State Champion at 155 pounds after winning the title last season which capped off a 29-1 season.

Allison went 20-2 two years ago during her sophomore season and finished runner-up which at the time, was Oskaloosa’s first state medalist in girls wrestling.

Allison will begin her senior season ranked #1 by the Kansas Wrestling Coaches Association at 155 pounds. Her teammate Holly Thacher is ranked #1 at 105 and is also a defending State Champion.

The Oskaloosa girls as a team, enter this season 7th in the 4-1A rankings. Allison is signed to wrestle at the next level at the University of St. Marys.
