Jace Johnson

Royal Valley’s Jace Johnson etched his name into the record books this past week in their win against Chapman at the Panther Classic.

Jace tallied 10 steals with the previous mark being six which was held by multiple great players.

In addition to his 10 steals, Jace added eight points, seven rebounds, and three assists. He followed that up with a 14-rebound performance in a close loss to Santa Fe Trail the next day.

Head coach Chris Brown: “To me, one of the best parts of Jace's record-setting day was that 4 of his steals came when we absolutely needed them the most.  We were struggling to pull away from Chapman, and he had 4 steals in the last 2 minutes of the 3rd quarter, which helped us extend our lead from 7 points to 14 points. Stats never show the full story with Jace; he brings relentless effort and positivity to our team every night and has earned all the success he gets with hard work.”
