Royal Valley Boys Place 2nd & Girls 5th at Abilene Track Invite

Eight teams competed at the Abilene Invitational on Friday in track and field competitions with Royal Valley as the only area school competing in the competition.

The Panthers boys squad took home a second place finish as a team as the only other team to register over 100 total points, outside of first place team Andale. Royal Valley's second place finish was sparked by five individual first place finishes with Skyler Link leading the way leaping to wins in the long jump (20-1) and triple jump (40-10). Wemiko Lewis won another discus title this season this time behind a toss of 152-2. Panthers, also took home the 3,200 meter relay title with a time of 8:24.09 and Thomas Broxterman won the 800 meter run behind a time of 2:06.00.

On the girls side for the Panthers on the day it was a fifth place finish as a team out of the eight teams competing. Lady Panthers only had one first place finisher on the days action as Ingles Kiona took home the shot put crown behind a toss of 32-5.5.

Panthers finished the day with six total first place finishers at the Abilene Invitational, in competition with eight other schools.
