JCN Chargers Highlight Rossville Track Invite (Full Results)

Four area teams in Jefferson County North, Horton, Valley Falls and Oskaloosa competed at the Rossville track and field Invitational on Friday with 11 total teams competing on the days action.

Of the four area teams competing on the day it was the JCN Chargers highlighting things as they took home 11 home first place finishes on the day. Leading the way was Jamie Navinskey who registered three first place finishes on the day winning both the 100 and 200 meter dashes with times of 12.96 and 27.88, respectively, while also winning the long jump title with a leap of 15-01.

The Chargers won three other running events as Hannah Twenhafel won the 300 meter hurdles (52.94), the lady Chargers relay team winning the 4x100 meter relay (53.17) and Dallas Edwards won the 1600 meter run (4:49.62).

In the field events it was three wins for the lady Chargers and two for the boys in the Rossville Invitational. Heather Polson took home the high jump crown behind a leap of 5-00, while Lauryn Baker leapt to the triple jump title behind a leap of 30-06.5. Laramie Leakey took home the pole vault title on the girls side with a vault of 8-00. The two boys field event wins came by Bryce Noll and Luke Pyle in the triple jump (35-11.5) and javelin (163-10), respectively.

Horton and Valley Falls, also registered first place finish on the day for top area performances at the Rossville Invitational. For the Chargers they saw a great performance by Leah Murata as she took home a pair of gold medals winning the 1600 and 3200 meter runs with times of 5:51.68 and 12:50.95. Fellow Horton Charger, Carissa Lowe won a gold also by taking the discus crown as she registered a toss of 83-07.

For the Dragons of Valley Falls their day was highlighted by Dallas Brown who brought home the Dragons lone first place finish place of the day. Brown tossed his way to a win in the discus with a toss of 115-01.
