Local Golfers Compete at Palmyra Invitational

 In high school golf, several teams competed at the Palmyra Invitational Wednesday.
 Milford won the Gold Division with a team score of 246, two strokes better than second place Elmwood-Murdock.  Johnson County Central was third with a 260 total, the same as Falls City, which was 4th.  Lincoln Christian was 5th with a 261 total, followed by Syracuse (265), David City (269), Friend (294), Weeping Water (312), and Lincoln Lutheran (350).
 David City won the Silver Division with a 284 total.  Milford was second and Syracuse third, with Falls City 4th with a 307 total.  Pawnee City was 8th at 314, Johnson County Central was 9th with a 331, and Southern was 13th with a 402 total.
 Individually, Mitchell Rust of Elmwood-Murdock was medallist in the Gold Division with a 78, one stroke better than Milford’s Zac Morley, who was second with a 79.  Falls City’s Brody Weinmann was 6th with an 82, Josh Crane of JCC and Wade Witt of Falls City both shot 84s, with Crane placing 8th and Witt 9th.
 Cameron Clark of Syracuse was the Silver Division medallist with an 87.  Weston Witt of Falls City shot 88 for second place; Connor Freeman of Pawnee City was 5th with an 89; Cody Broadfoot of JCC was 9th with a 94; and Tony Jiminez of HTRS was 10th with a 97.
