After 11 years with the Benedictine College softball program as head coach, Tim Crowley has stepped down.

"I'm very proud that I had an opportunity to help provide an opportunity for my players to get a high-quality education while playing softball at Benedictine," Crowley said.

The softball team went 21-20 this past spring and qualified for the Heart of America Athletic Conference postseason tournament. Crowley took over the Raven softball program in the 2001-02 school year after serving as an assistant coach.

Now, Crowley will focus on a different team: family.

"Ultimately, with five daughters all under the age of 10, this was a decision that was best for my family," Crowley said. "I am thankful for the opportunity that Benedictine has given me and I'm proud to have been part of the Benedictine family."

Crowley guided the program to multiple 20-win seasons as head coach.
