(KTNC) - For the second week in a row, the Peru State Bobcats won a football game on a last second field goal.  Greg Conry booted a 32-yard field goal as time expired Saturday to give the ‘Cats a 31-28 victory over Culver-Stockton College, in a game played at Jug Brown Stadium in Falls City.
Conry’s kick came after the Wildcats tied the game at 28-all when they recovered a Peru State fumble in the end zone with 2:30 left in the game.
The Bobcats drove to the Culver-Stockton 15 yard line to set up Conry’s game-winning kick.  Peru State’s Zach Lempka had blocked a Culver-Stockton field goal earlier in the fourth quarter.
It was a big day for Bobcat senior fullback Ethan Bray.  He had a career-high 252 yards rushing on 40 carries, with one touchdown.  The 252 rushing yards also tied a Peru State single-game record set by Scott Gerdes against Baker University in 1990.
Bobcat quarterback Tyler Audsley threw two touchdown passes, to Lance Steffen and Nate Tromblee for the Bobcats other scores.
Peru State out-gained Culver-Stockton, 403 yards to 277.  The Bobcats held the Wildcats to just 75 yards rushing in the game.
With the win, Peru State improves to 6-1 overall and 4-1 in the Heart of America Athletic Conference, while Culver-Stockton remains winless at 0-7 on the year and 0-5 in the HAAC.
