The Riverside Cyclones played host to volleyball action over the weekend with two more Kansas schools and multiple Missouri teams involved.

The day started with pool play as Mound City finished first in Pool "A" action wins straight set wins over Riverside (25-19, 31-29) and McLouth (25-9, 25-17), while beating North Platte in three sets (14-25, 25-20, 25-22). North Platte finished second in the pool beating Riverside (25-13, 25-15) and McLouth (25-12, 25-11), while Mclouth won the other matchup in pool play beating Riverside in straight sets (25-21, 26-24).

In Pool "B" only three teams were in the pool and the Troy Trojans picked up a pair of wins to win the pool beating St. Joseph Christian in three sets (25-17, 19-25, 25-13) and Trenton in straight sets (25-22, 25-9). While St. Joseph Christian beat Trenton in the other matchup (25-14, 25-22).

Those setup some bracket play action to help determine the Semifinals with the uneven numbers in the Pool's. In bracket action St. Joseph Christian beat McLouth in straight sets (25-17, 25-23) and North Platte topped Trenton (25-20, 25-12).

Moving into the Semifinals it was St. Joseph Christian continuing to win on the day topping Mound City (25-23, 25-16) and North Platte got the best of Troy in straight sets (25-18, 25-21).

In the final matchups of the day Trenton grabbed a three set win over McLouth for fifth place winning, 22-25, 25-21, 25-21. While the Troy Trojans finished with the best area team performance topping Mound City in the third place competition, winning in three sets, 19-25, 25-21, 25-11. In the Championship match, St. Joseph Christian fell to North Platte, 25-14, 25-18.

Bracket play — St. Joseph Christian def. McLouth, 25-17, 25-23; North Platte def. Trenton, 25-20, 25-12.

Semifinals — St. Joseph Christian def. Mound City, 25-23, 25-16; North Platte def. Troy, 25-18, 25-21.

Fifth place — Trenton def. McLouth, 22-25, 25-21, 25-21.

Third place — Troy def. Mound City, 19-25, 25-21, 25-11.

First place — North Platte def. St. Joseph Christian, 25-14, 25-18.
