Mound City Girls Cross Country Competes at State

(KLZA)--The Mound City Girls Cross Country team placed 5th at the Class 1 State Meet Saturday in Jefferson City. 

Salisbury was the team champion with 97 points,  Crystal City was second with 101, Summit Preparatory was third with 111. Drexel was fourth with 136 followed by the Panthers with 158.

Mound City junior Kendey Eaton won her third career cross country state medal with a third place finish running the 5000 meters in a time of 20:33.  First place went to Clair Workman, a sophomore from Summit Prep in 19:34 and second place was Alessandra Moss from Couch in 20:20.

Other Panther runners included freshman Deanna Calyton 42nd in 23:03;  Joeigh Eaton, sophomore is 23:05; Adrienne Messer, sophomore in 24:07.  Jocelyn Clayton sophomore is 25:38; Jessica Johnson, a junior  in 25:57 and senior Lily Forehand ran a time of 26:03.

Destiny Klosek, a junior from Tarkio ran 23:31 for 56th place and Blair Broermann, a junior from Tarkio ran 24:34.
