Pawnee City Grad Earns Honors

 Two members of the Doane football team were named today to the Capital One Academic All-District 3 team for their achievements both on the field and in the classroom.  Linebacker Garrett Borcher (JR/Pawnee City, Neb.) and defensive lineman Aaron Hanlin (SO/Pierce, Neb.) were on the 25-player squad chosen by the district's sports information director members.

Borcher leads the Tigers in tackles this year with 79 through eight games, ranking 20th in the NAIA in tackles per game with 9.9.  He has added six tackles for loss including two sacks along with one interception that he returned 96 yards against Dakota Wesleyan.  Borcher is an education major.

Hanlin is second on the team in tackles this year with 43 in seven games played.  He leads the team with 14 tackles for loss which includes 6.5 sacks.

Both players will now be eligible for Academic All-American honor which will be announced in December.
