Playing for the second time in less than a week, the TVL Doniphan County rivals turned the tables as the D-West girls and Trojan boys avenged a loss from the League Tournament in Onaga with victories on Tuesday night in Troy.

GIRLS = Doniphan West 38, Troy 28
The Mustangs were beat by Troy 44-24 in the 7th place game at the League Tourney on Saturday, but played much harder and disiplined on Tuesday night while defending Troy better on the perimeter to take the regular season win.

D-West limited Troy to only one made field goal in each of the first two quarters and led 23-7 at hafltime. Troy missed wide-open shots and layups and never found any rhythm on offense while also going just 3-9 at the foul line.  Blair Weishaar, who had made six treys and scored 18 on Saturday, led the Troy girls with just 8 points on Tuesday night as the Lady Trojans fell to 7-6 overall and 2-4 in the TVL.

D- West got 11 points from McKenzie Blevins while Carlie Taylor and Regan Gibson each added 8 and Gibson had 12 rebounds and 3 blocks as the Mustangs improved to 6-6 overall and 3-3 in the TVL despite 20 turnovers.  Mia Scott scored 7, including one of three trifecta's for D-West, who had made only 2 shots behind the arc all season.

BOYS = Troy 77, Doniphan West 55
D-West knocked off the Trojans 60-56 in the Tourney semifinals, but they could only play with Troy for a half on Tuesday night in the regular season.  Both teams shot well and made six free throws and five treys in the first half while Troy maintained a 39-33 lead.  Yet, Troy kept the pedal to the metal in the third quarter with a 20-6 scoring blitz to take control of the game and coast to the triumph.

Troy made 8 triple's on the night including one from Jay Whetstine in the fourth quarter.  Tristan Speer hit a trio of three-pointers and scored a season high 11 while Jake Ross nailed two behind the arc and matched his season high with 10 points.  Collin Jasper added 13 for Troy but it was Nathan Gaarder that led the way with a season high 20, and he really asserted himself and took control with 9 points finishing at the rim in the third quarer as the Trojans improved to 10-3 overall and 4-2 in the TVL.

Jeffery Watts scored 16 points in the first half for the Mustangs but was held to a single free throw in the final two quarters.  Austin Taylor scored 9 late points to finish with 17 as well and Lane Spiker added 12 before D-West fell to 7-5 on the year and 3-3 in the TVL.

These teams will play a third time this season on February 24th at Doniphan West.
