The Washington County Tigers back into the State tournament for the second straight put together their best finish since 2011 when they finished third, as the Tigers took home fourth place in 2A this year after capping off the State tournament with a 63-57 loss to Olpe.

The Tigers connected on 51% of their shots in the contest and put together a solid performance but Olpe shot a blistering 57.1% from the floor and established an early lead and held off the Tigers. Olpe worked out to the 19-12 lead after the first quarter, but a Tiger 13-11 second quarter made it a 30-25 game at halftime. In the second half the Tigers clawed back at Olpe getting within one-point but trailed 47-39 after three quarters, only to get within two-points in the fourth just over four minutes left but Olpe answered again and ultimately picked up the win 63-57.

A trio of double figure scorers led Washington County with Zach Otott leading the way with 19 points, while Kyle McGatlin chipped in 13 points and Konnor Penning tallied 10 points, as the Tigers finished 21-5 on the season and brought home fourth place in Class 2A.
