Benedictine Men's and Women's Teams Set to Compete in National Tournaments

 The Benedictine Men's and Women's basketball teams are back in their respective National Tournaments that are set to get underway Wednesday afternoon.

The No. 19 ranked Raven Women earned a spot in the NAIA Women's National Tournament by defeating MidAmerica Nazarene in the Heart of America Athletic Conference Tournament Championship Game and come into the tournament with a 25-8 overall record.
 
They will take on No. 14 Wiley (Texas) at 4 p.m. Wednesday at the Independence Event Center in the first round of the 2015 NAIA Div. I Women's Basketball Championship in Independence. 
 
The Raven Men, who finished as the No. 16 ranked team in the NAIA, are making their second consecutive appearance in the National Tournament and come into the final postseason tournament with a 24-8 overall record. 
 
Benedictine, after going 12-6 in the Heart, earned the conference's host berth to the NAIA Tournament after Missouri Valley College took the Heart Tournament Championship berth and Evangel the regular season title spot. 
 
The Benedictine Men will take on Montana Western in the first round of the Naismith Bracket of the NAIA Tournament at 7 p.m. Wednesday in Municipal Auditorium in Kansas City. 
 
Tom and Gus Kautz will have the call for each match up beginning with pre-game for the Women's game set for 3:45 p.m. and the Men at 6:45 on KAIR 93.7 FM.
