Nine Area Softball Players Named All-State by the KSCA

It was a solid softball season for many Northeast Kansas area teams and five schools had players earn All-State honors by the Kansas Softball Coaches Association for the 2015 season.

In Class 4A the Jeff West lady Tigers won the school's first ever team State title by claiming the 4A-DII title and finishing with a 20-4 record on the year. Senior, Olivia Brees and sophomore, Kayleigh Wright of the Tigers each earned first team All-State honors at pitcher and infield, respectively. While, Royal Valley Panther sophomore, Maggie Schuetz got the nod for second team All-State honors at catcher after helping Royal Valley win the Big Seven League title and finish the year 19-2.

All-State softball honors in Class 3A were earned by a pair of Oskaloosa Bear juniors in Madison Miller and Haidyn Bassett after helping the Bears win the Northeast Kansas League title this year and finish 17-4. Miller earned first team honors at infield, while Bassett was named second team at pitcher.

The McLouth Bulldogs finished the year 21-5 and took third place in Class 2-1A and they headline the area All-State honors in 2-1A as junior, Shannon Greene and senior, Angela Dailey both earned first team honors at pitcher and outfield, respectively. A pair of Valley Falls Dragons also earned All-State honors as senior, Anna Coleman and freshman, Allison Kearney both got the nod for second team honors in the infield after helping the Dragons to a 13-6 record this year.
