Eugene, Ore. - The Nebraska track and field women took the stage at the NCAA Outdoor Championships on Thursday, the second day of the four-day meet at Hayward Field.

Sophomore Tierra Williams finished ninth in the long jump, narrowly missing first-team All-America honors. Williams' second jump of 20-10 1/2 (6.36m) was wind legal and a personal best, moving her to No. 9 on the NU all-time outdoor chart. After the first three jumps, Williams was in seventh place to qualify for the final and earn three more jumps. The Auburn, Neb., native was unable to improve on the mark and finished ninth to earn second-team All-America honors, one year after finishing 21st in the event.

Fellow sophomore Jazmin McCoy, who was a first-team All-American last year in the long jump, finished 17th with a best jump of 19-11 1/2 (6.08m) on her second attempt.
