The volleyball season has come to end for 2015 and the Northeast Kansas League has handed out their postseason All-League honors for the top players across the League.
The Valley Falls Dragons dominated the competition in the NEKL going a perfect 16-0 in League play to win the League crown while finishing 35-4 and Sub-State runner-ups just missing a trip to State. Four lady Dragons earned first team All-League honors as seniors, Callie Watson and Sydney Gish, along with junior Mallory Burns and sophomore, Rachel Frakes earned first team All-League honors. Senior, Ali Brown picked up honorable mention honors for the Dragons.
Maur Hill-Mount Academy Ravens finished second in the NEKL this year with a 13-3 League record and finished 27-11 overall. A pair of Raven seniors in Carly Taylor and Avery Lewman each got the nod for first team All-League honors, while junior, Hana Ronnebaum picked up honorable mention honors.
Third place in the NEKL belonged to the Jefferson County North Chargers as they finished 11-5 in League action and 30-9 overall on the season. A trio of Chargers picked up first team All-League volleyball honors with senior, Amanda Wistuba, junior, Jentry Seichepine and sophomore, Ravyn Jobbins all earning the honors. Junior, Kaylee Page picked up honorable mention honors for the Chargers.
Immaculata Raiders also finished 11-5 in League play like the Chargers but finished fourth in the League after falling to JCN twice during the season and wrapped up the season 21-15. Junior, Ally Campbell earned first team All-League honors for the Raiders, while senior, Lauren Vardiman picked up honorable mention honors.
Jackson Heights, Horton and Pleasant Ridge all tied for fifth in the League finishing with 6-10 League records this year. The Cobras overall posted a 14-23 mark the best overall record of the three teams and had junior, Hannah Williams earn honorable mention honors.
For the Horton Chargers they finished the season 9-25 and sophomore, Daspin Bruning earned first team All-League honors for the Chargers, while junior, Abby Ross picked up honorable mention honors.
Pleasant Ridge Rams finished 7-27 overall on the season and had senior, Morgan Heim earn first team All-League volleyball honors this year.
The Oskaloosa Bears finished 3-13 in the NEKL and just 4-32 overall but had junior, Shelby Wright pick up honorable mention All-League honors.
McLouth Bulldogs finished just 1-35 overall on the season going 0-16 in NEKL play but had junior, Katie Gill earn honorable mention All-League honors.
