The Onaga Buffaloes opened the wrestling season on the mats at the Lincoln Invitational and all eight grapplers for the Buffaloes notched top six finishes, helping the team finish fourth out of nine schools competing. 

Tharrin D'Aloia only competed in two matches at 113lbs but picked up wins in both of them winning by pinfall in 3:57 and 1:16 to finish first place for Onaga. Second place finishes were picked up by Trenton Ross (132bls) and Quentin Lara (220lbs). Ross put together a 4-1 day on the mats at 132lbs to take second, registering all four of his wins by pin in 41, 49 and 11 seconds and 1:42. Lara also went 4-1 on the day with three pinfall wins in 41 seconds, 4:38 and 1:48 and his other win came by injury default. 

With a 3-2 record Brandon Merriman wrestled his way to a third place finish at 145lbs for Onaga, while Kylar Schmitt took fourth at 160lbs finishing 2-3 on the day. Trenton Henneberg also notched a 2-3 record on the day mats to open the season for Onaga and placed fourth at 195lbs. A 2-3 record earned Eli Zidek a fifth place finish at 285lbs, while Lara Branan-Cole finished sixth at 132lbs but was 0-5 on the day. 

Onaga continues the season on the mats at the Doniphan West Quad on Thursday in Highland.
