KBCA High School Basketball Rankings Feb. 15th - 14 Area Teams Ranked

Two weeks remain in the regular season of the high school basketball regular season in Kansas and the action is heating up with plenty up for grabs in Northeast Kansas from League titles to Sub-State seeding. This week 14 area teams are in the latest Kansas Basketball Coaches Association rankings. 

Class 1A-Division I continues to house a pair of Twin Valley League teams at number one in the polls as the Centralia girls and Donpihan West boys each check in at number one again this week. The lady Panthers of Centralia are 15-1 on the season after beating Troy and Clifton-Clyde last week and have won 14-straight. While the Doniphan West boys remain number one this week after wins against Wetmore, Falls City Sacred Heart and Blue Valley-Randolph last week to move to 14-3. 

The Hanover girls are up one spot this week to number eight in Class 1A-DI after beating Washington County and Frankfort last week to move to 12-5 on the season. While in the boys rankings Centralia and Hanover check in at second and third again this week. For Centralia it was a 2-0 week last week with wins against Troy and Clifton-Clyde to move to 11-5 on the year, while Hanover picked up wins against Washington County and Frankfort to move to 13-4 on the season. 

In Class 1A-Division II the Axtell lady Eagles remain ranked this week ninth after picking up a non-league win against Pawnee City last week to improve to 14-3 on the season and have won 12 of their last 13 games. 

The Valley Falls lady Dragons remain unbeaten on the season beating Maur Hill-Mount Academy and JCN last week both on the road to improve to 16-0 on the season and again rank second this week in the Class 2A polls. While on the boys side in Class 2A the Troy and Jefferson County North boys both remain in the polls this week. Troy remains ranked seventh this week after going 1-1 last week with a road loss to Centralia and a win against Linn to move to 16-2 on the year, while JCN is 13-3 on the season after wins against Valley Falls and Immaculata last week and ranks ninth again this week in 2A. 

Sabetha Bluejay girls and boys both picked up wins against ACCHS and close wins against Hiawatha last week to each improve to 15-1 on the season and both remain ranked third in the Class 3A polls this week. The Nemaha Central Thunder girls are up one spot to fourth this week in the 3A polls after wins against Hiawatha and Perry Lecompton to improve to 14-2 on the year. In the boys poll Royal Valley also remain ranked again coming in at fifth, despite falling to Riverside last week to move to 14-2 on the season. 

Class 4A-Division II has one area team in the polls as the Holton lady Wildcats remain ranked tenth this week in the latest polls after beating Riverside to move to 10-6 on the season. 

The regular season has only two weeks left and all the area teams and teams across the state are looking to finish the regular season strong to gear up for the postseason.
