Centralia Girls & Frankfort Boys Take Frankfort Late Track Invitational Titles

The track season rolled along on Thursday as Frankfort hosted another track competition this season with five fellow Twin Valley League schools and Marysville in action. 

At the end of the competition the Centralia lady Panthers and the Frankfort Wildcat boys picked up the team titles. The lady Panthers won the team title by 97 points, while Valley Heights took second just by five points over Hanover who took third. Onaga, Frankfort and Marysville finished out the girls team results finishing fourth, fifth and sixth, respectively. In the boys competition Frankfort claimed the team title by 52 points over Onaga who took second, while Valley Heights grabbed third place. Hanover, Centralia and Marysville finished out the boys team performances placing fourth, fifth and sixth, respectively. 

Pacing the Centralia girls to the team title was five first place finishers on the day with Sadie Jones winning a pair of events. Jones paced her way to the gold in both the 1600 and 3200 meter runs behind times of 6:08.15 and 12:53.61. Maegan Koch raced to the win in the 400 meter dash with a time of 1:02.88, while Chelsea Huerter notched a height of 9'06 to win the pole vault and Tara Bergman won the discus with a toss of 107'02. 

Four first place finishes for the Frankfort Wildcat boys helped them to the team title at their home meet as Ryan Kraushaar sprinted to the 200 meter dash win with a time of 23.98, while the Wildcats also took the gold in the 4x100 meter relay with a time of 46.35. In the field events both Sheldon Parthemer and Jase Suther took home first place finishes as Parthemer won the high jump (6'01) and Suther won the long jump (17'11). In the girls action Kaci Vaughn earned the gold in the javelin with a toss of 126'03.

Both the Valley Heights girls and boys each notched Top three team finishes on the day and had eight first place finishes on the day. Nicole Weyer picked up three of those eight golds herself winning the 100 meter dash (13.67), 200 meter hurdles (51.31) and long jump (14'06.50). Skyler Saunders and Shea Manley each brought home first place finishes in the girl’s action, too winning the high jump (5'03) and triple jump (32'03), respectively. In the boys action Alex Hardin, Adrian Pishny and Anthony Edwards each registered a first place showing for the Mustangs. Hardin took first in the 1600 meter run (5:02.31), while Pishny won the 3200 meter run (10:52.15) and Edwards leapt his way to the win in the high jump (6'01).

Hanover Wildcats had a strong day on the track at the Frankfort Invitational especially in the relay competitions as the lady Wildcats swept the relays winning the 4x100 (55.16), 4x400 (4:21.39) and 4x800 (11:03.97), while the boys took the gold in the 4x400 (3:40.66) and 4x800 (9:03.49) meter relays. Macy Doebele and Claire Zarybnicky also each notched golds for Hanover in the girl’s 200 meter dash (28.96) and 800 meter run (2:34.72), while Trey Loshe won the boys 800 meter run (2:12.23). Matthew White took home a pair of first place finishes by himself sprinting to the win in the 100 meter dash (11.43) and 400 meter dash (55.68). 

Garrett Ames led the Onaga Buffaloes as he swept the hurdles on the day, taking the gold in the 110 and 300 meter hurdles with times of 16.98 and 43.78. While, Eli Zidek joined him with a multi-gold day tossing his way to the winning marks in the shot put and discus with tosses of 44'03 and 118'06, respectively. Logan Marten also grabbed gold in the boy’s triple jump with a leap of 17'11. For the lady Buffs both Belinda Ames and Cheyenne Brunkow each posted a first place finish winning the 100 meter hurdles (17.59) and shot put (32'05), respectively.

 

Marysville had just one first place win on the day as Chase Green with a toss of 169'08 took home first in the javelin.
