Ever since the pair of losses to start the season the Troy Trojan baseball team has won and continued to win to the tune of a 14-game winning streak after a sweep on Tuesday against Valley Falls in a pair of games played in Atchison. The Trojans earned the sweep with 1-0 and 11-4 victories.

To start the action it was a offensive struggle for both teams in game one as only one run was ultimately produce in the contest, but it proved to be a thrilling matchup down to the end despite the offensive struggles. Troy broke through early for the lone run of the contest plating a run on a RBI hit from Tucker Morris in the bottom of the first inning. The Trojans went on to have multiple other opportunities to add to the lead by Valley Falls kept it a 1-0 game behind the pitching of Tucker Sherretts. But it was the pitching of Reid Greaser that was the story of the game for Troy as he went the distance and threw a complete game one-hit shutout to earn the win, although Valley Falls did get the tying run on third in the seventh with a few walks in the inning. Greaser recorded 10 strikeouts in the contest on the day to the win giving up three walks and just the one-hit as Troy won 1-0. Morris finished 2-3 to lead the Troy offense in the win.

In game two it was Valley Falls getting on the board early as an infield single by Billy Coleman got him on to leadoff the game and Sherretts delivered an RBI single to make it 1-0 Valley Falls going into the bottom of the first. Troy responded as Greaser laced a leadoff double and came in to tie the game at 1-1 after Morris put one in play for an RBI single. Valley Falls threatened to regain the lead in the top of the second but left the bases loaded and Troy snatched the lead in the bottom of the second with an RBI double from Cuttar Huss to score Chris Winkel who led the inning off with a single. The Trojans added another run in the third and led 3-1 going into the fifth.

Things opened up in the fifth inning as Valley Falls grabbed the lead back with a three spot as they took advantage of some free passes to gain a 4-3 lead. That lead didn't last long as Troy responded with three runs of their own in the bottom of the fifth using RBI singles from Luke Smith and Wyatt Huss to plate two of the three runs and giving Troy the lead back at 6-4.

The Dragons offense went cold in the final two frames as Wyatt Huss faced the minimum to finish out the game on the mound and Troy stretched the game out in with five runs in the sixth to secure the 11-4 win and the sweep.

Valley Falls in the loss was led by Coleman and Sherrettts who each had a 2-3 game. Coleman had a pair of hits with a walk and two runs scored, while Sherretts with his two hits had an RBI and run scored. Dawson Gatzemeyer took the loss on the mound going five plus innings giving up nine of the 11 Troy runs.

Troy had Wil Smith start the game but he got a no decision after going four and a third surrendering all four Dragons runs on four hits and four walks, while Brody Winder earned the win pitching out of a jam in the fifth inning and Wyatt Huss toss the final two frames. Wyatt also was 3-4 at the plate with two RBI's, while Wil finished 2-4 with three runs scored and three RBI and both Winkel and Morris had a two-hit game.
