A trio of Twin Valley League teams stepped out of League play and hit the volleyball court on Saturday at the Republic County Invitational coming away with third, sixth and seventh place finishes on the day. 

Action started in pool play with Linn the Red pool and Hanover and Clifton-Clyde in the Blue pool. Linn had three tough contests in pool play falling in a pair of three set matches to Republic County and Beloit, while snagging a straight set win over Pike Valley to finish pool play 1-2. Hanover posted a 3-0 record in pool play beating Smith Center and Thayer Central in straight sets and topping fellow TVL team in Clifton-Clyde in straight sets. Clifton-Clyde wrapped up pool play going 0-3 falling to not only Hanover, but losing a pair of straight set losses to Thayer Central and Smith Center. 

In the consolation bracket Clifton-Clyde and Linn squared off in the consolation Semifinals and Clifton-Clyde snagged their first win of the tournament beating Linn in straight sets 25-22, 25-20. The Eagles then finished the tournament falling to Thayer Central 25-19, 25-13 to take sixth place, while Linn bounced back and won 25-12, 25-16 over Pike Valley to take seventh place at the Republic County Invite. 

The winner's bracket had a matchup with the host Republic County for Hanover and the Wildcats took their only loss of the tournament falling 25-11, 25-16, but they bounced back to finish the tournament with a 25-17, 25-21 win over Smith Center to take third place.
