As the regular season starts to come to a end in high school volleyball the Jefferson County North Chargers stepped outside of the area competition and traveled to Osawatomie to compete in their final regular season tournament action on Saturday. The strong season continued for JCN as they earned second place at the tournament.

The Chargers cruised in the first two matches of pool play beating Christ Prep (25-16, 25-9) and Pleasanton (25-11, 25-17) each in straight sets, while also picking up a three set win over Maranatha (24-26, 26-24, 25-13). But JCN did suffer a loss in pool play action falling to Girard in straight sets (25-27, 16-25) to finish pool play 3-1.  

The 3-1 pool play record carried JCN into the Semifinals JCN were they took on Erie and won in straight sets 25-23, 25-22 to advance to the Championship contest where they would get a rematch with Girard. 

This time the match went to three sets between JCN and Girard but the contest went to Girard as they won 15-25, 25-21, 21-25 giving JCN a 4-2 day and second place at the Osawatomie Invite. 

Chargers are set to wrap up the regular season in Northeast Kansas League play on Tuesday, October 18th at the Pleasant Ridge Triangular taking on the Rams and McLouth.
