The high school wrestling season rolled along on Saturday and both Jeff West and Onaga hit the mats at the Council Grove Invitational. 

Jeff West had seven grapplers in action and all seven finished with at least one win on the day and a ninth place finish or better in their weight class. Chase Montgomery led the way for the Tigers as he posted a 4-0 day to win the 182lbs weight class picking three pinfall wins 1:15, 1:19 and 1:05 and also won via a 9-2 decision. Behind a 4-1 day Kody Gibson earned second place at 132lbs winning by a 14-3 major decision and claiming three pinfall wins in 1:58, 5:08 and 4:00. Two Tigers earned third place finishes as Luke Holloman went 3-2 on the mats with a pair of pinfall wins at 152lbs and Joel Scott also registered a 3-2 day winning two of his three matches by decision. Tyler Casto (145lbs) went 2-3 in action for fourth, while Shane Kelly (120lbs) notched one win on the mats an finished fifth and Kole Henley (106lbs) took ninth place recording one win at the Council Grove Invitational. 

The Buffaloes of Onaga had five wrestlers in action at the Council Grove Invitational. A 2-2 day by Rogelio Fuentes at (132lbs) was good for seventh place, while Trenton Cott went 2-3 and finished sixth at 152lbs. Morgan Mayginnes was 1-4 at 138lbs and finished sixth, while Kylar Schmitt was 1-3 and placed fifth at 182lbs along with Vincent Lara placing fourth at 220lbs out of the four grapplers at that weight class.
