The Holton Wildcats rolled to a 61-7 victory on senior night to wrap up the regular season against Jeff West. Holton racked up 514 yards rushing and scored on every single offensive possession until kneeling down in the red zone twice to end the game. The Cats had 20 first downs in the first half alone as they built a 48-0 lead and went on to even their record at 4-4 heading into the playoffs for the 26th consecutive year.

Holton’s first half touchdowns included a 16-yard run from Abbott Hundley, a 23-yard run by Kyler Jackson and then a Bodie Dillon 48-yard option score.  Dillon made his first varsity start filling in for Eli Hallauer and completed the Wildcats only pass of the night for a 23-yard touchdown to Jackson Bear to make the score 27-0 early in the second quarter. Hundley added a second rushing score before senior Dalton Roush picked up an offensive fumble and returned it 13 yards for another Holton touchdown. Cale Hein capped the first half with a 33-yard TD run and there was a running clock throughout the entire second half.  Alec Frazier scored on a 43-yard touchdown run and Korban Wilson added a 30-yard TD to begin the fourth period and put Holton ahead 61-0. Wilson also kicked 7 of 9 successful PATs.

Jeff West only had one first down (via penalty) and negative totals yards on their first six drives. The Tigers did move the ball before halftime however and then put together a six-play 80-yard drive in the fourth quarter getting a three-yard TD pass from Tucker Holthaus to Brodie Boyer.  Holthaus finished 14-29 for 130 yards passing with Boyer making 7 catches for 76 yards. But the Tigers only ran for 14 total yards on the night and fell to 1-7 on the season.  The young Tiger team with only two seniors will play Osawatomie for a third straight year to conclude their season next week.

Holton had seven different players rush for over 40 yards and 8 athletes scored touchdowns. Hundley had 122 yards on 9 carries to lead the way while Cael Frazier added 63 yards, Hein 62 and Caleb Chermock 59, including an electrifying run breaking numerous tackles in the fourth quarter.

Holton finished runner-up with a 3-1 mark in the district and will open the playoffs hosting Bishop Ward next week.
