Jackson Heights Girls & JCN Boys Take Second at Silver Lake Track Invite

Four area teams traveled to Silver Lake on Tuesday to continue their track season and competed against some top level competition. 

The Jackson Heights girls notched a second place team finish out of nine schools only seven points behind the host Silver Lake. While the Jefferson County North girls took third as a team and Frankfort tied for fifth and McLouth finished ninth. JCN boys led the area teams with a second place finish in the boy’s action finishing only five points behind the host Silver Lake. Jackson Heights boys took fifth, while Frankfort and McLouth placed sixth and seventh, respectively. 

Leading the way for the Jackson Heights Cobras was Faith Little as she won the 800 meter run with a time of 2:23.36 and in the 1600 meter run posted a time of 5:20.84 to win and break her own school record. The lady Cobras 4x800 meter relay team also took first after posting a time of 10:42.02. In the boy’s competition Steven Marshall and Dalton Chartier led the Cobras earning first place in the 200 meter dash (23.60) and 800 meter run (2:03.56). 

Five first place finishes were captured on the day at the Silver Lake Invite by JCN Charger athletes with four coming in the boy’s competition. On the track the Charger boys won the 4x400 meter relay (3:36.74) and Brayden Summers with a time of 4:58.06 took first in the 1600 meter run. In the field events Joel Abel and Jacob Schrick won the high jump (5'10) and javelin (167'02), respectively. Lady Chargers were led by Kaylee Page who with a vault of 7'06 took first place in the pole vault. 

A triple gold day for Dimitri Tullis led the McLouth Bulldogs as he won the 400 meter dash (52.92), triple jump (43'04.75) and long jump (21'02). While the lady Bulldogs had one event winner on the day as Jenna Johnston won the 100 meter hurdles (17.91).

Frankfort Wildcats were led by Emilee Ebert who won the girls 100 meter dash with a time of 12.77 and also earned first in the long jump with a leap of 16'06.50. Brodric Shirley led the Frankfort boys winning the 3200 meter run with a time of 10:13.94.
