Twin Valley League All League 8-Man Honors Awarded
By Mike Smith

With the football season for 8-Man football teams in the books the All-League honors are being handed out and the Twin Valley League has given out their All-League awards, after another stellar season for the TVL 8-Man league.

No surprise but the two teams that enjoyed the most success this season in the TVL 8-Man division saw the most players named to the All-League teams as B&B the 8-Man DII state champs finished with six first All-League honors and five second team honors, while Hanover who lost to B&B in the 8-Man DII state semifinals got five first team player honors and five on the second team honors.

For the Falcons nine different players registered All-League honors as two players earned honors on both offense and defense. Seniors, Curtis Stallbaumer and Dustin Deters both earned All-League honors on offense and defensive sides of the ball. For Stallbaumer it was first team both times and for Dustin Deters it was first team defense and second team offense.

On the defensive side joining Stallbaumer and D. Deters it was David Macke on the first team All-League and Blake Reinecke and Derek Mueting both on the second team. Offensively, junior quarterback, Dustin Rottinghaus earned first team honors for the Falcons and also Cameron Haug, with Stallbaumer. Seniors, Tyler Deters and Jason Haverkamp joined D. Deters with second team honors on offense for All-League.

For the Hanover Wildcats they too had two players earn honors on both defense and offense. Junior, Brandon Jueneman earned both first team All-League honors on defense and offense for the Wildcats, while Mark Zarybnicky earned first team defense and second team offense.

Joining, Jueneman and Zarybnicky on the All-League defense honors for the Wildcats were Logan Bruna on first team and Dylan Goeckel and Kent Bruna on the second team. Offensively, Wade Steinfort joined Jueneman with first teams honors, while Cody Nieman and Hunter Nicholson joined Zarybnicky with second team honors.

After B&B and Hanover it was Clifton-Clyde and Axtell both registering three first team All-Leaguers. For, Clifton-Clyde senior, Alex Deaver lead the way with first team honors on offense and at punter, while also second team defensive honors. The Eagles of Clifton-Clyde also had three others earn All-League defensive honors as first team honors went to Max Schwab and second team honors, to Caleb Gelino and Blake Quillen.

For the Axtell Eagles, senior, Aaron Schmelzle lead the way for the honors as he was first team on defense and offense All-League. Junior, Payton Heinen also earned first team honors at kicker and sophomore, Andrew Feldkamp got second team honors on offense.

Blue Valley and Frankfort would register the only other two first teamer's for All-League honors with senior, Bobby O'Neill for the Rams on offense and junior, Lucas Adams for Frankfort as an at-large first teamer. Both the Rams and Wildcats both also had a player earned second team honors, too. For the Rams it was Bobby O'Neill again earning the honors on defense and for the Wildcats, junior Kyle Vaughn got the second team nod on offense.

For the Linn Bulldogs, senior, Zak Voelker earned second team All-League defensive honors.

The TVL 8-Man division was yet again a tough league filled with teams that were quite competitive yet again for another season.
