From start to finish Friday night, the Centralia Panther football team dominated Pittsburg-Colgan at home on homecoming holding Colgan to just 64 total yards in a 20-0 win. Pitt-Colgan entered the contest as the No. 2-ranked team in Class 1A.

Neither team was able to get anything going offensively early, as both teams traded possessions the entirety of the first quarter. Centralia got something going at the end of the first following an interception by Kamble Haverkamp, moving inside the Colgan 10 yard line as the first quarter expired.

On the first play of the second quarter Centralia found the end zone, as Isaac Gore powered his way in from five yards out to give the Panthers a 6-0 lead four seconds into the quarter.

After forcing a three-and-out Centralia went on another scoring drive, this time capped off by a Kamble Haverkamp 1-yard run. Haverkamp then found tight end Daegan Steinlage on the 2-point conversion giving the Panthers a 14-0 lead at halftime.

The third quarter was just like the first with no points put on the board, but Centralia dominated the time of possession running off nine minutes of the third quarter clock. The Panthers started the quarter with a six minute drive, then worked off the final three minutes of the third.

Centralia continued their timely drive that ended the third quarter into the fourth, and in total the Panthers wasted 7:30 minutes off the clock before Haverkamp put the nail in the coffin with another 1-yard run with just over seven minutes remaining.

In total Centralia allowed Colgan to gain just 64 yards total in the contest, while not allowing a passing completion and recording two interceptions. Perhaps the biggest accomplishment for Centralia was holding Colgan quarterback Cade Simmons to just 46 yards rushing in the contest, after Simmons entered the game averaging nearly 150 yards on the ground.

Centralia finished the contest with 413 total yards all on the ground, led by Isaac Gore who had a huge game rushing for 235 yards on 38 carries and a touchdown. Kamble Haverkamp also added 136 yards rushing, while recording two rushing scores as well.

Centralia (2-2) will now have their first league game hosting Troy (3-1) Friday night, while Pitt-Colgan (3-1) will host Abilene next week.
