The postseason all-league honors continue to roll in with the latest coming from the Northeast Kansas League which has released its all-league football teams for 2018.
The league champion Jackson Heights Cobras finished with a league-high seven players on the offensive and defensive first teams. On offense the Cobras had junior Cooper Williams earn first team running back with 1,544 yards rushing and 16 touchdowns, senior Kolby Rethman as a slot back and junior Carson Williams along with sophomore Taylor Wamego on the offensive line. On defense Jackson Heights had Carson Williams and senior Lane Thomas on the defensive line, senior Conlan Bruggeman at linebacker and Kolby Rethman at defensive back.
Maur Hill-Mount Academy went 5-1 in league play to take second and finished with five guys onto the first team. Junior Jack Caudle was named to the first team at punter and quarterback with 1,885 yards passing with 21 touchdowns, while Tate Vowels was named a first team receiver with 943 yards and 11 scores. Abe Siebenmoren was also named to the first team on the offensive line and at linebacker as he finished near the top of the state in tackles with 130 tackles and 19.5 tackles for loss. Senior Logan Housh was also named to the first team defensive line while junior Taylor Folsom earned all-league honors at kicker for the second straight season.
Pleasant Ridge took third in the league with a 4-1 league mark with three guys on the first team, as senior Clayton Richter was named a first team receiver, senior Eli Schwinn on the offensive line and senior Hunter Wagner at linebacker.
McLouth finished 2-2 in league play and had two guys on the first team, with senior Jeremy Carlton as an offensive and defensive specialist while senior Garrison Pope earned first team at defensive back.
Jeff County North and Horton rounded out the All-NEKL first team, as the Chargers had Logan Budy at running back and Kyle Budy on the offensive and defensive lines for the second straight season, while Horton had Marshall Randall at linebacker and Matthew Lobdell as a return specialist.
