Wrestling continued on with with stiff competition for the area wrestlers competing at the Marysville Tournament this past Saturday, but top plenty of four finishes were captured on the mat by area wrestlers.

Of the area squads participating in the Marysville Tournament that featured it was Marysville the host school highlighting the day for the Kanzaland area teams. The Bulldogs secured three individual first place finishes on the day with two third place finishes and two fourth place finish, also. Marysville's ranked wrestlers Josh Goepfert (113lbs) and James Landoll (138lbs) both captured first places in their weight classes to continue their great season. While in the 106lb weight class Chris Deters added another first place finish for the Bulldogs on the day. Tim Cramer (152lbs) and Mikah Nietfeld (170lbs) both earned third place in their weight classes while Konner Cue (120lbs) and Casey Hilton (220lbs) each registered fourth place finishes. With the three first place finishers and other top four finishers, Marysville finished third place as a team.

Second best team performance from the area went to the Sabetha Bluejays who finished eighth out of the 13 teams that competed on the mat on the day. Bluejays were lead on the day by the second place performances of Thaine Allen (120lbs) and Isaac Wenger (220lbs), while Jacob Leuthold (285lbs), Levi Huneke (182lbs) and Tyler Edelman (195lbs) each earned a third place finish on the day.

The Mustangs of Doniphan West also had a few top four individual performances on the day with Tristan Speer (195lbs) capturing second place, Kody Collins (132lbs) taking third and Hunter Idol (106lbs) finishing fourth.
