The Abilene cross country team barely edged Hiawatha to win the 2022 Boys Holton Invitational this past Saturday. On the girls’ side, Oskaloosa got the victory with Holton finishing third and Jackson Heights placing fourth.

The Red Hawks’ own Camden Bachman placed first individually with a time of 18:04 in the Boys’ Varsity 5K. His teammate Felix McCartney finished right behind him with a time of 18:14, and McLouth’s Henry Cloud finished third with a time of 18:21.

Royal Valley’s Cheyenne Hittle finished second with a time of 22:48 in the Girls’ Varsity 5K. Oskaloosa’s Emma Vogel placed third with a time of 23:56.
