The Royal Valley boys basketball team posted one of the best if not the best season in school history in 2022 with a 24-2 record and runner-up finish in Class 3A.
The Panthers were 13-1 in Big 7 play to capture their third straight league title. It was also their third straight season of winning 20+ games.
They made the State Tournament in both 2021 and 2022 for the first time in school history. They would start the season 15-0 and then win nine straight before the loss in the title game.
The only losses for the Panthers were to Holton and then Hesston in the State Championship game. 22 of their 24 wins were by double digits.
The Panthers had five senior starters that averaged 65 points per game. Nahcs Wahwassuck was named First Team All-State while Mason Thomas was named Honorable Mention All-State.
K.J. Miller, Brady Klotz and Wahwassuck were tabbed as All-Big 7 selections while Thomas was named Honorable Mention.
