The final rankings from the Kansas Basketball Coaches Association have been released with sub-state tournaments starting this week and continuing throughout next week.

After clinching the Big 7 league title, the Nemaha Central girls cemented themselves again as the #4 team in the newest Class 3A poll. ACCHS also makes no movement at #5.

For the second consecutive week, Riverside slides down a slot in the poll to #5 in Class 2A. Jackson Heights remains #9 as well.

Frankfort finished their regular season on a nine-game winning streak and moved up two spots in the Class 1A-D1 rankings to #4. Doniphan West finished as the second seed in their sub-state tournament and stayed at #10 in the poll.

Hanover stays #1 in the Class 1A-D2 and get a bye in their sub-state tournament in Axtell after a perfect 20-0 season and a Twin Valley League outright league title.

The Atchison boys stay #1 in Class 4A and will likely be the 1-seed in the 4A East sub-state tournament.

Sabetha also remains #1 in Class 3A and has already been locked in as the top seed in the Marysville sub-state tournament. Marysville stays at #7 and will be the 2-seed in the tourney.

As of this article’s release, Perry-Lecompton is in a three-way tie for second place in their own sub-state tournament, but according to KSHSAA, the Kaws are the 4-seed if the season were to end ahead of Tuesday’s games. However, they remain #10 in the final KBCA rankings.

Clifton-Clyde stays #2 in the Class 1A-D1 poll after clinching the TVL title for the first time since 2001. They also get a bye in the Washington County sub-state tournament. For the fourth straight week, the Rams of Blue Valley make no movement staying at #5. Troy also stays at #10 for the third consecutive week.

Axtell and Hanover also stay at #3 and #4, respectively, in the final poll of the season.
