Kaws Roll in Sub-State Quarterfinal

The Perry-Lecompton boys basketball team opened up Sub-State play on Tuesday night with a big win at home over Jefferson West 67-36. 

The Kaws broke the game open in the third quarter as they turned a 15 point lead into a 27 point lead going into the fourth quarter. 

Gunnar Ball was the story as he led Perry-Lecompton with 31 points and 12 rebounds. He made five three-pointers and went two for three at the free throw line. 

Kamryn Kaniper added 18 points and seven rebounds. The Kaws outrebounded the Tigers 30-18 and they forced 19 turnovers. 

The Tigers were led by Hunter Moser with nine points while Tucker Holthaus and Caleb Morse each added seven points. 

The Kaws improved to 17-4 overall and advance to Friday's Semi-Final against Silver Lake. The other Semi-Final of the Perry-Lecompton Sub-State is Bishop Ward against Heritage Christian. 

Jefferson West ends their season with a record of 7-14 overall as they made strides after an 0-20 season two years ago.
