It was a wild night of basketball on Friday with the boys 3A Sub-State Semi-Final games at Marysville.

ACCHS 19, #7 Marysville 53

This game was about Marysville in the second half. That was the difference in the game.

Both teams struggled offensively in the first half with the Bulldogs leading 17-12 at the break. Marysville came out in the third quarter on fire and they didn't miss a beat on their way to a big time win to advance.

They would outscored ACCHS 27-6 in the third quarter and 36-7 in the second half.

The Bulldogs (20-2) were led by Jack Lauer with 14 points, 13 of which was scored in the second half. They also got 11 points from Peyton Smith as nine total players scored for Marysville.

ACCHS (14-8) has their season come to an end and they were led in scoring by Matthew Worley with nine points while Trenton Kimmi added six points.

Nemaha Central 59, #1 Sabetha 51

An absolute thriller and shocker in the nightcap at Marysville in front of a packed crowd. Nemaha Central upsets top ranked Sabetha to advance to the Sub-State title game on Saturday night.

Sabetha led by four at the end of the first quarter but the Thunder would take a two point lead at halftime. They would not give up that lead in the second half on their way to the win.

They hit clutch shots and free throws down the stretch and they had an answer for every punch thrown by the Bluejays.

Nemaha Central (10-12) got 17 points from Gavin Cain and 16 points from Carter Rottinghaus.

Sabetha's (21-1) incredible season comes to an end. They got 27 points from Matthew Garber and 11 points from Davis Rokey. They won the outright Big 7 League title this season.

Nemaha Central and Marysville will play on Saturday night at Marysville with a trip to the 3A State Tournament on the line.
