(KLZA)-- The Johnson-Brock Eagels defeated North Platte St. Patrick's 46-40 Saturday morning to win the Class D1 Boys Basketball State Championship, the fourth state title in school history.

Johsnon-Brock led the entire game although a one-time 10 point lead in the fourth quarter was cut to just 2 points with 1:26 to go in the game. The Eagles hit 9 of 12 free throws in the 4th quarter to seal the game and went 16 of 23 in the game.

The 4th ranked Eagles set the school record with their 25th win of the season on Saturday. They also won state titles in 1997, 1998, 2019 and placed third in 2018. The team also set a school record allowing just over 35 points per game on the season.

Senior Nic Parriott came out hot Saturday hitting 3, three-point buckets in the first half and scoring six of his 15 points in the fourth quarter to help seal the victory. He was named Honorary Captain of the D1 All-Tournament team.

Sophomore Camden Dalinghaus was also named to the All-Tournament team. He scored 43 points in the tournament including going 24 of 26 at the free throw line in the three games and hitting 5-three point baskets.

Top ranked North Platte St. Pat's won the title in 2022 and were looking to repeat, but came up short and finish the season 25-3.

Coach Lucus Dalinghaus won career game number 200 in the semi finals on Friday morning, but #201 might carry a bit more meaning.
