The two-time NEKL Champs McLouth hosted Troy on Monday afternoon in a battle of unbeatens and two of the best teams in the state.
The Bulldogs would have the edge in game one with a 6-2 victory.
Two of the best pitchers in the state went head-to-head with McLouth's Corissa Bandel and Troy's Paityn Engemann.
Both pitchers went the distance with Bandel finishing with 14 strikeouts while Engemann finished with 10 strikeouts.
Troy would score their lone two runs in the first inning off the bat of Engemann via a two-run home run. It was Engemann's 16th home run of the season which is two away from tying the single season state home run record.
McLouth would counter with three runs of their own in the first inning. Dani Lee drove in two with a single and then would score from third on a wild pitch.
Two more hits and two more runs would score in the third inning and then the Bulldogs would add one more insurance run in the fifth.
McLouth would go on to beat Troy in game two by a final score of 15-0 in four innings. After the doubleheader sweep McLouth improved to 19-0 while Troy dropped to 16-2.
