Frankfort girls win May Invitational at Valley Heights

The Frankfort girls track and field team won the Late Invitational at Valley Heights on Thursday afternoon. 

The Wildcats finished with 147 points while St. Marys finished in second place with 89.5 points. Valley Heights finished fifth place with 68 points and Onaga finished eighth with 12 points. 

Frankfort had a bevy of first place finishes with Alexis Dalinghaus in the 100 meter hurdles, Emma Hardwick in the 300 meter hurdles, Sydney Wapp in the discus, Clara Kee in the javelin and Joee Bussmann in the pole vault. 

Audra Steinfort posted a first place finish for Valley Heights winning the shot put while the Mustangs added a few more second place finishes. 

Onaga got a third place finish from Brianna Bates in the javelin. She added a fourth place finish in the 200 meters and a fifth place finish in the 100 meters. 

The Council Grove boys had a dominant afternoon finishing in first place with 176 points while Riley County followed in second with 126 points. 

Valley Heights finished fourth with 70 points, Frankfort in fifth place with 46 points and Onaga in seventh place with six points. 

The Mustangs landed a first place finish from Logan Gray in the 400 meters and a second place finish from Caden Parker in the 800 meters. 

Frankfort got a first place finish from Ty Smith in the javelin while he also finished third place in the pole vault. Xander Hull added a third place finish in the shot put. Onaga had a third place finish from Tyree Figge in the 400 meters.
