Holton qualifies two for State Golf Tournament

The Holton boys golf team competed at the Regional Tournament on Monday afternoon at Holton Country Club. 

The Wildcats finished in fifth place out of the six team field but qualified two for the 4A State Tournament next week. 

Leading the way for Holton was sophomore Brody Meyer who finished with a five-over round of 75 which was one stroke off the top spot on the leaderboard. 

Cash Foltz of Wamego and Jack Winkler of Bishop Miege each fired a 74 to tie for first place. 

Senior Parker Crouch finished tied for 15th with a round of 86 to earn himself a spot at state. 

Freshman Korben Fox finished just outside the cut line finishing the day with an 88. Senior Jayden Fletcher and sophomore Maverick Hug both shot a 98, while freshman Eli Wisdom shot a 107. 

The top three teams in the field were Wamego, Bishop Miege and Hayden. 

The 4A State Golf Tournament will be in Winfield at Quail Ridge Golf Course on May 22-23.
