McLouth Highlights SIK All-State Softball

Sports in Kansas have released their All-State softball teams along with Players and Coaches of the Year for the 2023 season. 

McLouth highlights our area selections after they went 26-0 and won the Class 2-1A Championship for the first State Title in school history. 

Sophomore Dani Lee was named the 2-1A Player of the Year, Senior Corissa Bandel was named the 2-1A Pitcher of the Year, and head coach Ballard Patterson was named the 2-1A Coach of the Year. 

Lee was incredible both at the plate and inside the circle. Her batting average was .620 with 11 home runs and 62 RBI. Inside the circle, she added 118 strikeouts in 51 innings with a staggering 0.137 ERA. 

Bandel in 14 starts pitched 74 innings and struck out 169 batters. She allowed only three walks and gave up six earned runs. Bandel will continue her softball career at NEO. 

Patterson was also named the All-Classes Coach of the Year while Lee was named to the Top-9 All-Classes team. 

Joining Bandel and Lee on the First Team in 2-1A for McLouth was junior Anna Patz, sophomore Cresinda Bandel, and senior Jillian Holwick. 

Troy went 19-3 with their only three losses to McLouth. They added three to the First Team with senior Paityn Engemann, sophomore Emerson Weber, and freshman Harper Whetstine. 

Valley Falls had a Second Team selection with junior Renay Myers. 

Honorable Mention selections were Halle Studer of Riverside, Kennadi Hernandez of Jefferson County North, Elizabeth Subelka of Jefferson County North, Maddie Forant of Jefferson County North, Baylee Kern of Pleasant Ridge, Korie Kirkwood of Valley Falls, Lydia Turner of Oskaloosa, Mya King of Oskaloosa, Somer Wyatt of Oskaloosa, Kelsi Ko of Pleasant Ridge, Elizabeth Holloway of McLouth, and Jordan Piche of Pleasant Ridge. 

There was a handful of selections for the Second Team in Class 3A with Nemaha Central sophomore Reagan Gerety, Royal Valley senior Samantha Klotz, Hiawatha senior Paige Campbell, Perry-Lecompton junior Taylor Damme, and Sabetha senior Alexia Hayden. 

3A Honorable Mention selections were Darcy Lierz of Hiawatha, Ava McKinley of Nemaha Central, Rylee White of Jefferson West, Grace Morey of Hiawatha, Devon Rodewald of Royal Valley, Ella Sudbeck of Nemaha Central, Lanie Becker of Jefferson West, Kennedy Bryan of Royal Valley, Alysa Ladson of Royal Valley, Sara Nemac of Marysville, and Trystan Buttram of Perry-Lecompton. 

Holton landed two on the First Team in Class 4A with senior's Brooke Flewelling and Timber Wilson. 

Atchison also added a heavy dose on the Honorable Mention list with Jadyn Boldridge, Kirrah Duncan, Andi Estes, Sarae Johnson, Kelsey Rebandt, Lindsay Smith, and Presley Simpson.
