The Big 12 Conference released its 2023 Preseason All-Big 12 Football Team. Reigning Big 12 Champion Kansas State is tied with Texas for the most representatives with five and Kansas has a total of four.
KU quarterback Jalon Daniels was named Preseason Big 12 Offensive Player of the Year. K-State running back Treshaun Ward, who transfers in from Florida State, was named Preseason Big 12 Newcomer of the Year.
On the offense, KU has three representatives with Daniels taking the QB spot. Running back Devin Neal made the cut and so did fifth year offensive lineman Mike Novitsky. K-State fifth year offensive lineman Cooper Beebe joins him on the All-Big 12 O-Line with two other teammates joining him. This includes Ben Sinnott, who is listed as the fullback, although he spends most of his time playing tight end, and kick/punt returner Phillip Brooks makes the cut as well.
On the defense, Cobee Bryant is the lone KU representative and Kobe Savage is KSU’s lone representative.
Other noteworthy tidbits from the All-Big 12 Football Team include Texas WR Xavier Worthy being the only unanimous selection. Also, Cincinnati had the most representatives out of the four new Big 12 teams with two players. BYU had one player named to the team, and UCF and Houston had none.
