Saundra Proctor takes the roll as the head women's basketball coach at Highland Community College.
"Coach Proctor is a tremendous leader who's very passionate about what she does. We are very excited to see how she can grow this program," Athletic Director, Jerre Cole, said. "We are pleased to welcome her to Highland."
Proctor comes to HCC after serving as an assistant coach at her alma mater Northeastern Junior College in January 2023. She began her collegiate career at Colby Community College where she had the luxury of having players make the conference all-region and all-conference team. Since beginning coaching at the college level, she has had four players receive conference recognition, and a player on each team that made the all-conference defensive team at Northeastern Junior College.
After graduating from Northeastern Junior College in 2008 with an associate degree in Criminal Justice/Psychology, Proctor finished her bachelor's at Shaw University in Raleigh with a degree in Sociology.
"I am very excited to be joining the Scottie family and looking forward to building a successful program for years to come," said Proctor.
