Colin Menold's big night helps Sabetha improve to 5-0

The Sabetha Bluejays improved to 5-0 on Friday night with a 27-6 homecoming win over Riley County in district play. 

The Bluejays led the game 14-0 at halftime on touchdown runs by Colin Menold and Chase Frey. Sabetha would take the opening drive of the second half and score on a 28-yard run by Aidan Lang on 4th down. 

Riley County would score their lone touchdown in the fourth quarter on a short run by quarterback Eli Harmison. 

Sabetha would recover the onside kick after that and add one more touchdown. Mitchel Kramer found Marcus Bauman for a 13-yard score. 

Menold rushed for 116 yards and a score while Frey added 75 yards and his touchdown. The Bluejays finished the game with 347 total yards and 279 rushing yards on five yards per carry. 

The Falcons (2-3) did most of their damage in the passing game as Harmison finished 22 of 45 for 235 yards and an interception. 

Jace Woodard led the Falcons in receiving with six catches for 84 yards, Jake Lambert finished with seven catches for 71 yards, and KJ Davis finished the night with 51 yards on five receptions. 

Sabetha has another home game in week six against Riverside while Riley County returns home for a district game against Horton.
