The Holton girls cross country team placed second on Thursday afternoon at the Osage City Invitational at Osage City Municipal Golf Course. 

The Wildcats were led by a former athlete of the week in Eva Cortes who finished in second place with a time of 19:06.07. Maya Doney also posted a top-10 finish placing seventh with a time of 20:41.75. 

Kennedy Smith finished in 19th place, Elizabeth Goombi finished in 33rd place, and Grace Selley finished in 36th place. 

Holton finished behind West Franklin who won the event out of the seven team field with Northern Heights in third place and Silver Lake in fourth place. 

The Holton boys finished eighth place out the 13 teams competing in the event. The top finish for the Wildcats was Rylan Pittaway who finished in 18th place with a time of 17:37.49. Dalton Peters finished in 30th place while Jacob Warner finished in 38th place. 

Central Heights won the meet followed by West Franklin and Silver Lake to round out the top three team finishes.
