The Nemaha Central volleyball team won the Sabetha Invitational on Saturday with six matches going their way. It was a grind for the Thunder with four of their matches going the full three sets.
Nemaha Central defeated Holton in the championship in a battle with the final score of 26-28, 25-23, 25-20. They also picked up wins over Marysville in the semifinals, Sabetha, Jackson Heights, St. Mary’s and Wamego.
The Thunder are now 34-3 entering their final triangular at Perry Lecompton on Tuesday.
Sabetha finished fourth falling to third place Marysville, who defeated them in three sets 25-20, 19-25, 25-15.
